On Friday, April 10, 2015, a Springville Middle School student named Tiffany shared her testimony with the First Priority group. She shared that her dad is a preacher and she has always lived in a Christian home. About two years ago, she became anxious and worried, so much that it affected her relationship with God. She soon had a panic attack, and has had many since. She has been diagnosed with a panic disorder. She has found comfort in God since and reads her Bible more often.
“Everyone experiences hardships,” Tiffany said. “We all go through trials and worry about situations, but God has a perfect plan for our lives. Even when we don’t understand, things will get better. Tiffany quoted Matthew 6:25-34 of the Bible: “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?[a] And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
Tiffany also read Jeremiah 29:11-14 of the Bible: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare[a] and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the Lord, and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, declares the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile.”
“You don’t have to be anxious or dwell on anything because God has a perfect plan for your life,” said Tiffany. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding,” Proverbs 3:5.
“God is coming back for us. This life will end and it’s perfect in Heaven. This is our hope; something better is coming.” Tiffany left the students with Revelation 21:4 of the Bible: “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death[a] or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
God has a perfect plan for your life. Trials will arise on this Earth. Will you be life Tiffany and choose to trust God?
