At St. Clair County High School’s last First Priority club meeting of the year, Student Leader Levi Dorsett challenged the students as everyone went their separate ways for the summer. “What things matter in your life; what is your First Priority?” asked Levi. “God matters; He sent His Son Jesus.”
Levi read Ephesians 5:15-19 ~ Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord.
“Understand what God wants you to do. If God isn’t Lord of all your life, then He may not really be in your life. Without God in our lives, we’re nothing. Give God all the glory. Find your purpose. He will show you the way and grow your potential.”
Levi then read Proverbs 27:17 ~ As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. “Where will you be in five years? You are influenced by your friends, but I want to encourage you to be influenced by God. Focus on what is Eternal.”
Levis closed by reading Jeremiah 29:11 ~ For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
“What is your First Priority today?”
