We are excited to announce out of the middle and high schools that have reported, nearly 300 students have made a decision for Christ on their school campus this school year thus far. There have been countless more salvation decisions at First Priority sponsored events this year as well. These students have been followed-up with to be discipled and become involved with a local church. Wow, God is good!
We receive reports from our teacher sponsors and campus coaches every day about all the incredible things God is doing in our schools through First Priority. We would like to share some of these amazing stories with you!
We were deeply saddened by the tragic shooting in South Florida a few weeks ago. Our First Priority clubs were as well and wanted to offer encouragement and show the love of Christ to students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Last week, we mailed about 200 handwritten cards from our local First Priority students to the students affected by the shooting in Parkland, Florida. We are very proud of our students for showing kindness, love and hope to those grieving the loss of their classmates, friends and teachers.
“Our First Priority members organized a coin drive in December to feed a group of children through Voice of Hope in Nicaragua. This week, the First Priority members and other students in the school got to Skype with the children they have been supporting and praying for in Nicaragua.” – Teacher Sponsor, Spain Park High School
“There were three students in our First Priority campus club that spoke this morning. One student talked about how he thanked God for providing for his family during the holidays, and also providing them heat and lights for their home. Another student talked about how he thanked God for protection as he goes back and forth in his community. There was another student who just thanked God for being alive.” – Campus Coach, Bessemer City Middle School
“We have a student who has been a Christian for about a year and a half and fairly new to First Priority that would like to start leading.” – Campus Coach, Chelsea High School
“We had several students this morning that attended First Priority for the first time. We had a lot of First Priority students reaching out to bring in friends. We had more than 60 students in attendance today and we are so excited that 11 students prayed to receive Christ and five students responded that they would like more information about the Gospel! God is good!” – Campus Coach, Helena Middle School
“One of our First Priority students shared about encouraging others after one of our seniors committed suicide this week.” – Teacher Sponsor, Oak Mountain High School
“This is a motivated and inspiring group of students. Each week, they are ready to share stories and testimonies of how God is working in their lives. Student have made a weekly speaking list of students and are active in reaching their campus for Christ. It’s really refreshing to see students this young so eager to share each week.” – Campus Coach, Jefferson County International Baccalaureate Middle School
There are many more stories just like these that we receive daily. We are very encouraged and excited about how God is moving in our clubs and through our students. Please be in constant prayer for students, teachers, faculty and administration over the next two months as they wrap up this school year.
