On Wednesday, April 11, 2012, nearly 50 Oak Mountain Middle School students listened as First Priority Campus Coach Liz Colbert shared a message about the incredible things Christ did for Mary Magdalene and how He gave her life. Liz first gave a background of Mary Magdalene including that Jesus cleansed her of “seven demons.”

“Jesus saved her from her sins,” said Liz. “She saw what He did for her, so she followed Him. She broke out of the box of society. Society didn’t have a place for her. She became close friends with Jesus, and was present at the cross and His burial. She was also the first person to see Jesus after His resurrection. She went and shared news with the disciples that she had “seen the Lord.”

“Jesus gave her new life so that she could live with Him,” said Liz. “He does the same for us. He died on the cross so that we can have life and no longer be broken, but be beautiful and free.”

Jesus can save anyone. Everyone has the opportunity to accept Him and receive a transformed life. If you haven’t already, choose to accept and follow Jesus Christ and receive new life.
