On Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2019, more than 25,000 local students participated in this year’s See You at the Pole (SYATP). Millions of students were involved globally. Before school, students joined together at their school’s flagpole in prayer for their friends, school, city, state, nation and the world. Many lives were touched, changed and challenged by one of the nation’s largest prayer movements. This year’s SYATP theme was “IF” and the scripture verse was 2 Chronicles 7:14 – “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” This year’s theme told us that ‘IF’ we humble ourselves and pray and seek the face of God and turn from our wicked ways, He will hear our calling, forgive us of our sins and heal our land.
First Priority Greater Birmingham President Greg Davis had the honor and privilege to be a guest on ABC 33/40’s Talk of Alabama show last week to discuss this year’s important prayer event. If you missed it, be sure to check it out below!

During SYATP, we receive numerous testimonies of how God moved in our schools and through our communities. We hope you’ll take just a moment to read a few incredible testimonies from our teacher sponsors and campus coaches:
“At Forest Oaks Elementary School we had over 218 kids, teachers and parents who prayed for each other, teachers and faculty, Mayor Picklesimer and the city council, and our country! What a way to start the day!” – Laura Cain, Campus Coach
“We had an amazing turnout for See You at the Pole with over 200 students! The kids are so excited about First Priority this year. They are hungry for God’s Word and ready to share the love and message of Jesus Christ with their friends. I truly believe they are the missionaries on our campus that will be able to reach this generation, every last one!” – Corner Middle School Teach Sponsor
“I cannot thank First Priority, the teacher sponsors and student leadership team at North Jefferson Middle School enough for making this year’s See You at the Pole a huge success! Over 150 students in attendance is a testimony to their hard work, the students’ initiative and the fact that through First Priority, they are becoming closer and closer to Jesus each week!” – North Jefferson Middle School Campus Coach
Thousands of students also participated in SYATP rallies held across the state on the evening of September 25. There were countless decisions made for Christ on this momentous day. During this important prayer event, students were encouraged to humble themselves in prayer and seek the face of God.
