As you read in my previous e-mails, some friends of First Priority have gotten together to challenge the ministry to raise $100,000 by 11:59 p.m. TONIGHT, and they will match every penny donated! We would like to invite you to partner with First Priority and get involved in our Victory Matching Challenge campaign. But hurry, TODAY is the last day to have your gift DOUBLED!

Together, we can reach more students with the hope of Christ in 2021! Our 30 year history shows us that for every $10 given to First Priority we are able to share Gospel Hope with a student on the public school campus. We do this by empowering Christian students to share Jesus with their peers and friends at school. Will you help us reach more kids and teens than ever before? We are counting on people like you who understand how important it is that every last student has this opportunity to hear and respond to the Gospel before they enter adulthood.

Together, We Can Reach More Students With Hope

Thank you for your prayer and support during a year like no other. In spite of COVID-19, First Priority has been able to continue to meet the needs of elementary, middle and high school students. It’s been a difficult and costly process to adapt to this new reality. But thanks to supporters like you, it’s been so worth it because the need is greater than ever.

Students are hurting, lonely and they long for a place where they can connect and belong. First Priority provides a place where students know they can find friends and hope. As mentioned in the last email, a local student recently told his First Priority campus coach, “Last week you reminded me that I’m not alone and I needed to hear that.”

Our vision is to establish an organized Christian presence on Every Last One of the 272 campuses in Greater Birmingham. When we do this, we can have the opportunity to meet the needs of Every Last One of the over 150,000 students in these schools. These are our kids and grandkids. They need our support now more than ever!

Dear First Priority Partner,

I am writing to you today as a follow-up to a previous email I sent you before Christmas. You may remember that I shared with you that we have noticed how much more prevalent suicide has become recently right here in our area. After I wrote you, I came upon an alarming statistic. Today, most young people have an increased level of connectivity but less connection than ever before. Research by Springtide earlier this year, just before COVID-19 quarantine, told us that one-fourth of 13 to 17-year-olds said they sometimes or always feel “completely alone.” Can you imagine what that number is now?

I am asking you to help us help these students. Your gift between now and December 31st will be DOUBLED and help First Priority work with local churches and schools to address this issue of loneliness. A couple of weeks ago, a local student told his First Priority campus coach, “Last week you reminded me that I’m not alone and I needed to hear that.” You see, as First Priority clubs are able to continue starting back up and meeting on school campuses and online, kids and teens have a place to connect and belong. First Priority becomes a place that students know they can find friends and hope. We know that the ultimate solution to loneliness is Jesus!

Help Us Give Hope This Holiday Season For Twice The Impact!

Dear First Priority Partner,

Have you ever given a Christmas gift and saw it instantly doubled? Well, during our 2020 Victory Matching Challenge, that’s exactly what will happen! Some donors have challenged us to raise as much as $100,000 for the ministry of First Priority from now until the end of the year, and they will match it dollar-for-dollar!

I’d like to invite you to become a part of this ministry through your financial support. Your year-end gift will have twice the impact in young lives during our 2020 Victory Matching Challenge! Can I count on your support?

Your prayer and support helped sustain the work of First Priority as we navigated the beginning of a school year like we have never seen in our 30 years of school ministry. While I do not know what this school year holds for traditional First Priority clubs reaching their peers with the Gospel, I do know that with your continued help we will keep equipping, empowering and encouraging those within our influence wherever God opens doors.

I know it’s anecdotal evidence, but I have personally heard about more middle and high school-aged suicides and suicide attempts in the last six months than ever before in my nearly 30 years of youth ministry. In fact, very recently at one of our local campuses, a student was in a school bathroom intending to commit suicide. Thank God someone found this student and prevented it from happening. As a result, this life was saved and three more students from that school came forward admitting their intention to also commit suicide. Kids are hurting and starving for community. While many local church ministries are limited or non-existent, First Priority is the only outlet many have to seek answers for their hurting hearts. And because of you, we are able to share the ultimate answer to every question they may have – JESUS!

Some friends of First Priority have gotten together to challenge the ministry to raise $100,000 in November and December, and they will match every penny donated! We would like to invite you to partner with First Priority and get involved in our Victory Matching Challenge campaign.
 
Your gift of $25 will be immediately doubled to $50. Your $50 gift will be matched to make a $100 gift and $100 becomes $200. We hope you will consider giving a gift for our year-end Victory Matching Challenge.
 
The 2017-2018 school year marks First Priority’s 27th year of ministry and it has been very exciting and productive. Tens of thousands of students are touched each semester in Greater Birmingham by the ministry of hundreds of First Priority volunteers and donors like you. During the 2016-2017 school year, out of the clubs that reported, approximately 13,000 students attended First Priority clubs every week and over 550 students made a decision for Christ!
 
With life changes like these, a city can be changed and a generation can be changed. We thank God for His great power and we give Him all the praise and glory for the lives that were touched and changed throughout the year.

We have been doing our Victory Matching Challenge campaign for over 16 years and because of the impact it has made we have seen tens of thousands of lives changed. Every gift of love, every prayer, every word of support to a Christian student, faculty sponsor or youth worker means that another student will have the opportunity to hear the life-changing Gospel of Christ!

Today is #GivingTuesday, a day that charities, families, churches, businesses and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give to causes they believe in. There’s Black Friday, Cyber Monday and now it’s time for #GivingTuesday, which kicks off the charitable season of giving. It’s a simple idea, and we hope you’ll join us and be a part of a global celebration of a new tradition of generosity!
This is an especially important time to give to First Priority… Some friends of First Priority have gotten together to challenge the ministry to raise $100,000 in November and December, and they will match every penny donated! On #GivingTuesday, your gift will be DOUBLED! How you can be involved:
1) Please pray about a gift and give online. A gift in any amount will be instantly doubled for twice the joy, twice the hope and twice the love to a student who so desperately needs to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ! The great thing about #GivingTuesday is that it is less about the amount each individual gives and more about having many individuals giving on the same day.
2) Please share our #GivingTuesday information with your friend groups and/or church family through social media or other informational channels.
3) After you have given, please tell everyone you can about how you are giving and invite them to do the same. Be sure to use hashtags: #GivingTuesday and #HopeofChrist in your posts!
 
We are very thankful that for over 27 years we have had such strong support from churches and individuals who love what we do and desire to help the most vulnerable in our society. We hope #GivingTuesday will give you another way to join with us and to invite others to do the same.
