Hydrate Tour Returns to Local Schools

First Priority Greater Birmingham’s West Jefferson Network had the incredible pleasure of partnering with Hydrate Campus Tours on Feb. 18, 2020. Throughout the day, Hydrate Tours visited Hueytown schools for school assemblies. Hydrate exists to inspire students and young adults to live with purpose and integrity so they can become positive influencers to the world around them. Hydrate brings a high energy school assembly with positive messages of hope and encouragement that believing in yourself can spark greatness. No matter the circumstances or difficulties in life, you can rise above the crowd. The day included live dramas, musical performances and motivational speakers. To cap off the day, Hydrate and First Priority were allowed to present a follow-up concert and Gospel presentation on the night of the 18th at Hueytown High School. Students from the day’s assemblies were invited to come back and attend the night event.

Students, parents, family members and friends from all over the community attended the evening event. “Partnership is powerful,” said John Douglas, field coordinator for Hydrate Tours. “Thank you so very much for partnering with us in focused prayer for the Hueytown Hydrate Campaign! Last night, we saw 196+ precious people from ages 9 – 49 surrender their lives to Jesus Christ! It was such a beautiful sight! After a powerful time of ministry, three local youth pastors were able to stand united on the stage and together invite these new believers to join them at the launch of First Priority next Tuesday at their high school! Yesterday was not just a MOMENT, but was the beginning of a MOVEMENT in Hueytown, Ala.! His Will! His Way!”

Students challenged to reach Every Last One at Leader’s Summit

First Priority hosted its second Leader’s Summit of the 2019-2020 school year on Thursday, January 16, at Gardendale Civic Center. This is the 15th consecutive year the ministry has hosted campus ministry leaders for a day of inspiration and equipping. Nearly 700 students, teachers, youth leaders, parents and volunteers from almost 50 middle and high schools across Central Alabama attended our Leader’s Summits this school year.
Those in attendance heard from several speakers during the day including First Priority staff Greg Davis, Debi DeBoer and Ryan Allen. Students were challenged to finish the school year strong and strive to reach Every Last One. Several students also shared testimonies of how their First Priority club has shared, prayed and cared for their school. Special thanks to Gardendale Civic Center, Chick-fil-A Gardendale and Bud’s Best Cookies for their support.

Parents and ministry leaders gather to reach Every Last One!

First Priority Greater Birmingham hosted a City-Wide Campus Ministry Launch Gathering on August 13, at Regions Field Ballroom. The large group of parents and children’s/youth ministry leaders who attended was challenged and equipped to be a part of the Every Last One Movement.

The mission of the Every Last One Movement is to establish a legal ministry presence on all of the 271 public school campuses in Greater Birmingham, with the goal of sharing the Hope of Christ with every last student! First Priority President Greg Davis cast the vision for the movement. “Every Last One sounds like a big vision – we know! But when we work together with other like-minded ministry leaders who also care about the kids and youth in their communities, this vision can be a reality. But we must work together. If we will work together in unity, we will soon begin to see things happen not even previously considered possible.”

The three-hour gathering included times of worship, along with messages from Greg Davis, Evangelist Scott Dawson and First Priority of America’s Mark Roberts. Leaders in attendance were also able to sit and talk with others from their community about how they can strategically work together. Lastly, the group joined in small groups and then in a large group to pray for the children and youth of Greater Birmingham.
