On February 19, the power of the Gospel moved 159 Chelsea students to fall on their knees in surrender to follow Jesus. Why? Because the Gospel demands a response.
First Priority Greater Birmingham’s North Shelby County Network had the incredible pleasure of partnering with Hydrate Campus Tours on February 19. Once again, First Priority had the unique opportunity to work with Hydrate Tour Founder and Director Tim Beck who is passionate about partnering with local schools and churches in a community in order to engage students in relevant ways by impactful school assemblies and to awaken them to a relationship with Jesus Christ through an evening community rally. Throughout the day, Hydrate Tours visited Chelsea Middle School and Chelsea High School. Hydrate exists to inspire students and young adults to live with purpose and integrity so they can become positive influencers to the world around them. Hydrate brings a high energy school assembly with positive messages of hope and encouragement that believing in yourself can spark greatness. No matter the circumstances or difficulties in life, you can rise above the crowd. Chelsea High students poured into the gym at 8:50 a.m. to be challenged with truth – the choices we make affect our future. College students from Ramp School of Ministry performed human videos dealing with cultural issues like addiction, pornography and abuse. The assemblies at Chelsea Middle challenged students with making right choices and seeing their identity through positive affirmation, not self-loathing.
Hydrate and First Priority were allowed to present a follow-up concert and Gospel presentation on the night of the 19th at Chelsea High School. Students from the day’s assemblies were invited to come back and pack out the gym. Students, parents, family members and friends from all over the community attended the evening event. At the conclusion of the night, 159 new souls were added to the Kingdom! “There is no limit to what God can do when the community unites for the purpose of raising up a generation to know the Hope of Christ,” said First Priority Ministry and Area Director Debi DeBoer. Wow, God is good! Please keep these new believers in your prayers.
We are very thankful to Hydrate’s Tim Beck for allowing First Priority to follow-up with those who made professions of faith and help get them plugged into local ministries and campus clubs. We are so grateful we had the awesome opportunity to partner with Hydrate Campus Tours again. Please pray for these partnerships to expand. Next Tuesday, March 12, Hydrate Campus Tours and First Priority are going to Wenonah High School, Green Acres Middle School and Jones Valley Middle School. Please pray that more lives will be changed for the Kingdom!
We hope you will take a moment to check out Hydrate’s Web site and learn more about this incredible ministry!
