Tuesday morning is a buzz at Gardendale High School’s First Priority club meeting. Local Parent and Campus Coach Karen Decker is always smiles, and giving words of encouragement and hugs for the students as they come into the club meeting. On Tuesday, October 30, she blessed First Priority students with breakfast and treats.
Then, 11th Grade Student Leader DeAnn Hopkins shared a message from 1 Corinthians 10:24 ~ “No one should seek their own good, but the good of others.” She challenged fellow students to look out for the little guy and always look out for others. One of her great quotes for the morning was, “No matter your past and what you’ve been through, God can help you look past it and embrace the opportunities He is giving you now.”
Student Leader Marianne Nichole then gave out bags of candy corn to students with scripture cards in them as a way to be a blessing and to share Christ’s love with them. You can’t deny that God is doing great things in our local schools and that students aren’t just meeting to meet. Gardendale students are taking the Gospel and applying it to campus life in a real way. Seeing students share the Hope of Christ with fellow students in word and deed is a beautiful thing. I can’t thank God enough for allowing me to play a small part in such a big movement. Students are reaching students at First Priority.
