On September 22, 2010, more than 25,000 local students participated in this year’s “REVEAL: See You at the Pole.” More than three million students participated world-wide. Before school, students joined together at their school’s flagpole in prayer for their friends, school, city, state, nation and the world. Many lives were touched, changed and challenged by one of the nation’s largest prayer movements. This year’s “See You at the Pole” theme was “REVEAL” based on the Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6:9-13.
Throughout the day on Wednesday, people called 93.7 WDJC radio to share testimonies and to give a count of the students that participated in “See You at the Pole.”
Many students also participated in “See You at the Pole” rallies held across the state on the evening of September 22.
“See You at the Pole rocked,” said Shari Hyde from Shelby County. “Our students led out through praise and prayers with passion, conviction and loud voices.”
“See You at the Pole” is a student-initiated, student-led movement that started in 1990. It originated with one youth group, meeting at night at several schools in the community during a weekend retreat. For 20 years, See You at the Pole and First Priority have partnered to encourage and challenge students to lead-out in prayer, live-out their faith and ask God to “Reveal” Who He is not only on their own campus but all over the United States and world.
