We would like to invite you to join the tens of thousands of students in our area and millions world-wide on Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021, as they participate in the 31st annual See You at the Pole™ (SYATP).
SYATP is about one simple thing – STUDENTS in PRAYER. Before school, students will meet at their school’s flagpole to pray for their friends, families, teachers, school, city, state and nation to God. SYATP is a student-initiated, student-organized and student-led event. This year’s theme is “Just Pray” and the scripture verse is James 4:10 – “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.” Students are encouraged to, “Get serious, really serious. Get down on your knees before the master; it’s the only way you’ll get on your feet.”
“I think this year’s theme, ‘Just Pray,’ is a powerful reminder to stop planning, stop stressing and stop looking on social media,” said First Priority Greater Birmingham Ministry Director Debi DeBoer. “We need to stop focusing on what is going on in the world, stop worrying about what we can’t control and do what matters. The battle is won on our knees, so JUST PRAY.”
We have multiple resources available to students on our Web site including graphics, a planning guide, ways they can report their attendance numbers, and links to videos, the online SYATP store and multiple other resources.
On Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021, we encourage you to gather with your family, at your place of business with coworkers or even online and HUMBLE yourselves in PRAYER and SEEK the face of God and take part in one of the LARGEST prayer movements in our nation. PRAY for friends, families, teachers, schools and our world. JUST PRAY!
