Dr. Jay is a former pastor and the Founder and President of Student Leadership University (SLU), the premiere leadership training for students. To date, over 40,000 students have been trained in servant leadership based on the life and teachings of Jesus through SLU. Highly acclaimed as a dynamic preacher, he has spoken to an estimated 15 million people in his 35 years of ministry in thousands of churches, over 10,000 high schools and hundreds of area-wide, inter-denominational, and inter-racial crusades. He has spoken before government entities, corporate groups, and numerous professional sports teams in the NFL, NBA, and MLB, and more than 100 universities. Dr. Jay Strack has shared Christ through his message to both Air Force Academy students and faculty, and was the featured speaker for the 1998 NBA All-Star Chapel. He is also the author of more than 15 books including Good Kids Who Do Bad Things: How to Help Your Kids Make Good Choices. Dr. Jay and his wife Diane currently live in Orlando, FL.
As you can see by just scanning Dr. Jay’s bio, he, like you, is a busy minister. But, he has volunteered (yes, volunteered) his time to be in Birmingham for a series of meetings over the next several months, the first of which is Thursday, November 4th.
Will you join with many other spiritual leaders across our area to hear what Dr. Jay has to say to us? He will be presenting a very unique way that we can better serve the families and kids of our churches and communities over the next few months. If you take the time to attend, I assure you as a long-time friend of Jay’s and a friend of yours, it will be time well spent whether you are able to embrace the ideas he offers at this time or not. No one will meet Jay and leave without a greater understanding and heart for our children and youth. My guess is that you will also leave the time together with a few good sermon ideas and a bunch of one liners you’ll never forget.
Please join us along with your key staff members (particularly children and youth leaders) at one of two meetings on November 4th: Gardendale First Baptist Church (North Campus, 316 Mountain Crest Blvd. in Gardendale) at 9 a.m., or Valleydale Baptist Church (2324 Valleydale Road, just one mile East of I-65.) at 11:30 a.m.; free lunch will be provided and the meeting will begin at noon.
