Ignite Pell City 2011 was held Saturday, August 13, at Pell City Municipal Park. “Ignite’11 was by far the largest event that we have had to date,” said Ignite’11 Co-Director Kerry Hollis. “We estimate that over 8,000 people attended this year’s event.” Ignite is East Alabama’s largest Christian music festival and outreach that is held annually in downtown Pell City, Ala. This event is always free and anyone can attend. Bands that performed at this year’s event include: 33 Miles, Shonlock, Finding Favour, The Homecoming, Act of Congress, Followthrough and the winner of the Pure Praise Workshop “The Station Kids.”
First Priority Area Director Benny Bowman presented the gospel at Ignite. Numerous decisions were made for Christ and many more people asked for prayer for various things going on in their lives. Kerry said, “Ignite is an opportunity to plant seeds and we hear of impacts many weeks and months, and sometimes even years that the event has on people.”
