By First Priority of America:
As the new school year is under way in many parts of the U.S., we wanted to share this incredible testimony of a First Priority family in Alabama.
Tiffany Stevens recently graduated from West End High School in Walnut Grove, AL. She participated in First Priority during her middle school years, and then as a freshman decided to once again plug into the FP Movement at West End High School. However, when she arrived, there were only 4 students participating along with herself. So Tiffany went home and began to pray and dream with her parents what her school would look like if The Hope Of Christ was shared with every student in her school through the influence of First Priority. During her time at West End, Tiffany saw the movement grow to over 250 students involved every week. However, it did not just grow in numbers, but also in influence for Christ on this campus. In May, as Tiffany came to her last First Priority Club Meeting, during that time she was honored by her peers for her dedication to her school through prayer, passion and hard work.
Tiffany’s story is a great example of what happens when a family prays together and believes for God’s best to influence the local school. For a Priority Parent, it all starts with prayer.
Below is a synopsis from our “Priority Parent” guide, a 12-page guide that allows you as parents to take a simple approach to participating with your student at his/her school in the years to come.
How Do I Start a Priority Parent Network?
Starting a Network around your student’s school is simple. Consider for a moment who else has a student in the school who would be willing to pray with you on a consistent basis. Once you have a partner to help you build this network, the next step is to start telling the story.
A Priority Parent Network builds a team of parents around each school committed to modeling healthy family relationships, discipling their students, while Praying, Participating, Promoting, and Providing for the vision and mission of First Priority.
As the team builds and momentum grows in the families that are participating, there will be opportunities to create other means of supporting these students; from Campus Missionary Cards, to Prayer Walks, to providing for the Hook Week event, the guide gives you ample opportunities to grow your family’s influence on the school.
