We are excited to invite you, your youth group and family to Alive in the Mountains (AITM) 2013! We listened to you and we’re bringing this world-class retreat back Saturday, Jan. 19 – Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, Martin Luther King, Jr. Weekend. And, as an added bonus, we changed locations so you won’t have to fight hours of traffic! AITM will be held at the beautiful Tivoli Theatre in Downtown Chattanooga, just a short 2-hour drive from Birmingham. AITM has been a valuable retreat in the past for local groups and families, and we are excited about this year’s event. Offering prices lower than ever before, this first-class retreat will again be in a great setting in which you can keep your group identity in the midst of a larger group. We would like to invite youth workers to go on our next Chattanooga Sight Tour, next Tuesday, July 10. This will give you the opportunity to tour the new location, accommodations and some of Chattanooga’s top attractions. If you would like to go on the Sight Tour, please RSVP by this Friday, July 6, by calling our office at 205.871.8886.
Prices, starting at $89* per person for groups, include lodging for two nights and three days as well as the conference fee. Prices do not include meals. Most accommodations include either a continental breakfast or Grab & Go Breakfast for $10 per person (total for two days). Some of our accommodations are within walking distance from the Tivoli Theatre and feature an indoor heated swimming pool, spacious guest rooms, plenty of areas to meet with your group collectively, and historic charm. Learn more about the different lodging options by visiting www.aliveinthemountains.org. (All lodging information will be available here on Monday, July 9.)
In today’s culture there are so many distractions that take our time and focus away from God. This world is loud, crazy and busy. The Bible says, “Be still and know that I am God.” But everything in our culture seems to go against the very thought of taking time out to spend with God. We have so many distractions like Facebook, Twitter, text-messaging, and the media that are always at our fingertips!
We are excited about the opportunity for you and your teenagers to turn off everything and tune out all of these distractions in order to be still and focus completely on God. This is an opportunity to lay down the things of this world and focus on what really matters and bring glory to our Heavenly Father.
You and your students will experience some of the nation’s leading evangelists and Christian artists including Sean McDowell, Dave Edwards and Finding Favour. Coming this fall: A special concert announcement! This year’s conference will consist of four worship sessions, two on Saturday and two on Sunday. As a generation faced with the challenges and distractions of this world, your students will be challenged to lay down their lives for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and go out into this world and make disciples.
During free time we hope you and your group or family will take advantage of Chattanooga’s top attractions and historical sites: Tennessee Aquarium, Rock City, Ruby Falls and Lookout Mountain Incline Railway are just a few of the many. Details about these attractions and more can be found at www.aliveinthemountains.org. Please also take time to visit www.chattanoogafun.com.
We hope you, your youth group and family will join us for this life-changing retreat. Your students will be challenged to live for God daily and go and do what He has placed them on this earth to do. All information as well as registration will be available on Monday, July 9, at www.aliveinthemountains.org. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please call 205.871.8886 or e-mail info@gofirstpriority.com.
