I am excited to announce that Crumbly Chapel Elementary School is a new addition to the First Priority family. On Monday, April 25, more than 50 third, fourth and fifth grade students attended the school’s first-ever First Priority club meeting. Several students arrived early to get a good seat. Teacher Sponsor Laura Nixon welcomed the students and Metro West Area Network President Debbie Marshall handed out First Priority stickers. To spread the word about First Priority, every student put the sticker on their backpack. Local Pastor Chase Porter of West Point Baptist Church also joined in welcoming students to the school’s first club meeting. The students began with prayer over the school with several students asking God to bless their school and their families. I challenged the students to love like Jesus and to be a missionary in the school sharing the love of Jesus in all they do and say. I also shared the Bless, Pray, Serve and Tell Team Strategy with the students.
“I am so excited to see students have a place where they can come together and share their faith with each other,” said Laura. She and others from the school got involved with First Priority during “Day of Prayer Over Students Across Alabama” and rallied together to make this new club possible. The school’s principal, Harold Gray, gives his full support for First Priority and is excited to see it make a positive impact in the school and in the lives of students. Next week’s club meeting will be fun-packed with students taking the lead and blessing other students and faculty members by doing acts of kindness. One student at our first club meeting said that a blessing is, “Doing something good for someone and not expecting anything in return.” This is real truth from the mouth of a fourth grade student. Please be in prayer for this new First Priority club and the students as they share their faith with their peers on campus. We are very excited to see how God is going to move in this school and in the hearts of these passionate students.
