Dear Friend,
I love Birmingham! I’ve lived here all my life and have worked with First Priority campus ministry since 1996. During this time, with your support, we have seen Greater Birmingham become consistently considered one of the most churched and Bible-Minded cities in America. There is no doubt God has used First Priority to help make this a reality. Unfortunately, however, the need never stops and the state of the next generation is still mostly hopeless. While hundreds of thousands of students have been touched by the ministry of First Priority in the past – societal and spiritual – the need has never been greater than it is right now.
That’s where your support helps First Priority continue to meet this great need. Let’s think about the big picture of Greater Birmingham’s kids and teens and what reaching every last one with HOPE could look like.
In Greater Birmingham, there are 272 Elementary, Middle and High Schools with 166,302 students. First Priority Greater Birmingham currently has active ministry on approximately half of these campuses. Some 15,000-20,000 different students will attend a First Priority campus club meeting each month representing approximately 10-15% of all public school students in the metro area. Keep in mind that this total number participates while we are only active in half of the total number of schools.
If, with your help, we are able to establish First Priority clubs in the remaining half of our schools, while engaging the same percentage of students (and we believe we can do better), we will have more than 30,000 students per month participating. That means that one in every five students are involved in a peer-to-peer strategy to share the HOPE they have in Jesus with their friends. If every participating student could share this Hope with just four peers, we will have a movement that takes Jesus to Every Last One! One can only imagine the impact this will have not only in the lives of students but also in families across Greater Birmingham.
Your year-end gift will help First Priority engage with more churches, students and adult leaders in order to reach more students on more campuses. Between now and December 31, generous donations to First Priority will be DOUBLED enabling us to be twice as effective in reaching Every Last One. If you have already sent a gift, thank you for your generosity! If you haven’t sent a gift yet, there is still time for you personally to make a difference in the lives of teenagers all across the Birmingham area.
Can I count on you this year-end? The need is great and the solution is simple. I just need your help to reach Every Last One.
Keeping Christ the First Priority,
Greg Davis
