1-Week Grant For
Student Leadership University 101
Orlando FL, June 24 – 28, 2013
- First Priority is going to have FP Week at Student Leadership University (SLU) 101. SLU 101 is where every student begins his or her leadership journey. SLU 101 is a four day, all inclusive, leadership conference that combines hands-on intentional training with state-of-the-art facilities. Your students stay in a business hotel, go behind the scenes at SeaWorld, visit Universal Orlando and learn the foundational rules and tools of leadership from world-class communicators who have studied it and lived it. SLU bases its leadership principles through the lense that “Leadership Begins at the Feet of Jesus” and Fortune 500 level training. - This year’s SLU 101 conference will be held June 24-28, 2013, in Orlando, Fla. The best part… First Priority of America (FPOA) is providing 10 grants to First Priority top leaders from communities across the U.S. to attend the conference. FPOA wants to invest in the student leaders in your community, and watch what God has planned for His Kingdom’s sake.
- Please find below information that explains how students are to apply for the grant. This opportunity is available to current 9th-11th grade students. Please do not advertise this opportunity with your students. Please prayerfully choose your top First Priority leader and share the informational sheet with them. This event is not for everyone. Please think about your top leaders that you would bring to our annual Leader’s Summit and choose the top leader out of that group. The application deadline has been extended until Tuesday, March 12, 2013. Please don’t hesitate in sharing this great opportunity.
To Apply for the FP Student Grant, you must be:
* A High School student, completed at least a year of HS by June 24th, 2013
* A Student Leader in the First Priority club at your school
* Recommended for this grant by an FP Staffer, Faculty Sponsor, or Campus Coach
Steps to Apply for Hope Grant:
1 – Send email to FPStudent@fpoa.org to request Online Grant Application
2 – Complete Online Application form
3 – Post 60-120 second video on why you participate in First Priority at your school, and why this
SLU 101 experience would increase your leadership influence at your school; (YouTube, Vimeo,
Facebook or personal web page accepted). Then email the video link with your Name in the subject
field to FPStudent@fpoa.org
4 – Ask 3 Adult Leaders in your life to send in a 2-5 paragraph recommendation email to
FPStudent@fpoa.org. Leaders may include 1 from each of the following categories: Pastor, Teacher,
Family Member, Mentor, or Other. Once again, ask the Leader to put your name in the subject field
in order to ensure it makes it in your Grant Request packet.
What’s Next, and What to Expect:
* First Priority of America will acknowledge your Grant Request, and the receipt of each step
completed of your grant request through email.
* This grant provides for the complete payment of your SLU 101 Registration fees, which includes
but is not limited to, Conference fees, packets, hotel, dining during event. A $695 value.
* This grant DOES NOT include your travel expenses to and from SLU 101 in Orlando FL. These
costs are your responsibility unless otherwise noted by your church or local FP Network.
* Once the 10 Grant recipients are chosen by First Priority of America staff, you will be notified by
email, phone, and/or galactic space convoy if you will receive this grant in 2013. Grant recipients
will also receive information on how to prepare for your SLU 101 experience.
