The Greater Birmingham Festival of Hope is hosting a Community Action Project for ages 12 and up on Saturday, July 18, 2015, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and you’re invited! This will be a great opportunity for you and your students to get involved in your very own community. This event is being held in conjunction with Central Park Ministries and Neighborhood in Birmingham.
The following is a list of projects that you and your students can take part in:
– Dozens of projects to revitalize Central Park Ministry Center including:
– Painting school rooms
– Parking lot weeding, cleaning and painting
– Painting outside doors to building
– Power washing building
– Landscaping
– Pressure washing signage
– Mulching, planting shrubs, flowers, painting and updating playground area
– Updating the playground for the school
– Distribution of floral plants to local neighborhoods with inserted invitations to the Greater Birmingham Festival of Hope in August
– Distribution of posters & flyers to businesses promoting the Greater Birmingham Festival of Hope
– Service projects in the community
– Neighborhood clean-up
– “Beautification” and clean-up projects in and around Central Park Ministry Center (painting, landscaping, trash clean-up)
These projects will be conducted rain or shine. Volunteers must be at least 12 years of age; anyone under 18 must have a consent form signed by his/her parent or guardian. For more information and to register, please CLICK HERE. We look forward to your participation!
