On September 26, 2012, more than 30,000 local students participated in this year’s See You at the Pole (SYATP). Hundreds of thousands were involved globally. Before school, students joined together at their school’s flagpole in prayer for their friends, school, city, state, nation and the world. Many lives were touched, changed and challenged by one of the nation’s largest prayer movements. This year’s SYATP theme was “AWAKEN,” based from Ephesians 3:14-21. This theme passage of Paul’s prayer for his friends in Ephesus is one of the most famous prayers in the Bible. He desires so deeply for them to be able to grasp the extravagant dimensions of Christ’s love (msg). He yearns for his friends to awaken in a fresh way to the endless possibilities of what only God can do. He is passionate in his cry for awakening in their inner beings like they’ve never experienced. Thousands of students also participated in SYATP rallies held across the state on the evening of September 26. There were many decisions made for Christ on this momentous day. During this important prayer event, students were challenged to be spiritually awakened to impact their campus with the Hope of Christ.

“It’s cool to see students from 9th-12th grade come together around the flagpole to pray for our school. We hope that it won’t be a one-time prayer event but that we’ll continue to do this every week.” ~ Levi, Student
“Thanks for empowering our students. May God bless you.” ~ Margaret, Parent

“We had a great turnout at Chelsea Middle with about 125 students gathering around the flagpole. But, I was most impressed by the students’ service. From set-up to tear-down to serving breakfast, those kids worked hard!” ~ Matthew Britt, Campus Coach, Chelsea Middle School
“Wednesday was Awesome! The students did an incredible job organizing and preparing for the event. There were students crowded to pray around the flagpole as early as 7 a.m. and by 7:15 a.m. there were a ton of teachers and students. We had the opportunity to speak to several students regarding their faith. It was a great morning.” ~ Teacher, Thompson High School
